Introduction
Monitoring spirits is a term commonly used in deliverance and spiritual-warfare prayer to describe perceived spiritual surveillance, observation or opposition directed against a person's life, progress, family or destiny.
The Bible does not use the exact phrase “monitoring spirits” as a technical category. However, Scripture clearly teaches believers to resist the works of darkness, stand against spiritual opposition and trust God for protection and victory.
The Bible says:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” — Ephesians 6:12
These prayers therefore focus on bringing every perceived spiritual surveillance, witchcraft monitoring, evil observation, troubling dream, satanic opposition and hidden attack before God.

WHAT ARE MONITORING SPIRITS?
In spiritual-warfare language, monitoring spirits refers to perceived spiritual forces believed to observe, track or gather information concerning a person's life for the purpose of opposition.
People commonly connect this concept with:

- Familiar spirits

The Bible repeatedly assures God's people of His ability to protect them.
Psalm 121:7–8

Daniel
Daniel faced spiritual opposition and attempts to destroy his testimony, but God preserved him.
Daniel 6:22:
“My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths.”
Elisha and His Servant
When Elisha's servant saw the surrounding army, Elisha knew that God's protection was greater.
2 Kings 6:16:
“Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
Israel in Egypt
Pharaoh attempted to oppress Israel, but God eventually brought His people out with a mighty hand.
Exodus 14:14:
“The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
Jesus Christ
Jesus demonstrated complete authority over demonic powers and commanded His disciples to exercise authority in His name.
Luke 10:19
These examples point us back to the same truth: God is greater than every power that opposes His people.
